CHURCH BACKGROUND
AND HISTORY

Piling Cotamora
Pastor Judith Cotomora and her late husband, Piling.

Basiao is a small town on President Garcia's Island in Bohol Province (Basiao is pronounced "ba-shao" — "ba" as in bat, and "shao" as in shout). Most of the people in Basiao are fishermen.

This church began when Pastor Ronnie Tacatani began visiting and evangelizing in early 1998. The Basiao pastor is now Judith Cotomora; she took over pastoral responsibilities after her husband Piling died in 2001. The Cotomoras were both from Basiao.

CURRENT STATUS
OF CHURCH

The church has nine families as members. We have completed construction of a hollow-block (cinderblock) church building that holds 100 persons!
